Kari has always loved sports and started her health and wellness journey as an athlete and continued that love of sports while she was in college as a college athlete. She has an undergraduate degree in Health and Exercise Science from Iowa State University and continued her education with a masters degree in Community Health from Minnesota State, Mankato. To further her education and passion for helping others on their wellness journey, she became a Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach in October of 2020 and became a Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach in December 2021.
Kari has spent 27 years working in higher education with students and employees in student life, employee wellness, and within the athletic department with college athletes and coaches. From early adulthood to retirement, people experience changes and transitions where they need to reevaluate their definition of wellness and what it means to be healthy and well. Working with a health and wellness coach helps participants clarify their vision, gives them confidence, and sets them up for success.
